The COVIDVu Study

Emory University, one of the world’s leading research universities, with funding from the National Institutes of Health, is launching the COVIDVu Study, a national research study to map COVID-19 in the U.S.

Why Now?

Response to the COVID-19 epidemic has been hampered by lack of adequate testing. Because testing to-date has been limited and focused on those who are currently ill, there has not been a truly accurate, unbiased analysis of COVID-19 cases on a national level.

The COVIDVu study will also improve our understanding of the spectrum of COVID-19, including how it impacts different demographic, geographic and occupational groups. The study will also assess symptoms, underlying conditions, population concentration, region, gender, and age.

Study Protocol

The COVIDVu study will use home test kits to test approximately 10,000 people across the country to see who has an active COVID-19 infection as well as who has antibodies that indicate that they previously had COVID-19. More details will be published in coming weeks.
